BOOK IN THE SEA is an installation work that was exhibited in Malta as part of Valletta 2018, European Capital of Culture. Presents a poetic reflection where a book made of air and water emerges from the Grand Harbour, engaging the audience at the Lower Barrakka Gardens. The sea serves as a canvas, allowing human thoughts to materialize as text. This work merges cutting-edge technology with the principles of literary composition, set against the backdrop of a harbour that has played a central role in the history of the Maltese Islands. The poem speaks in silence, prompting viewers to reflect on the balance between the sea’s constant ebb and flow and human existence. The installation encourages quiet contemplation of the transient nature of both life and water. The project was developed after consultation with Atelier Omoya and further refined in collaboration with the Space Production Lab., eventually being realized as one of its works.
