An installation exploring the coexistence of natural and artificial light within a stone building in Valletta, Malta.
Inside the derelict room, cold blue daylight streaming through the window met the warm glow of filament lamps. Nishi designed an apparatus to visualize the quiet resonance of these two light sources, creating a composition in which light appears to dance through the space.
Rotating units, moved by wind, intermittently reflect light and gently transform the room’s atmosphere. Even the movement and breathing of viewers become part of the phenomenon, making the light seem alive.
Through the dialogue between natural and artificial illumination, the work seeks to construct an order of light and a poetic sense of stillness within space.
