Presented at Jōmon no Sato in Aquamarine Fukushima—a site that reconstructs the natural scenery of the Jōmon era—this work examines the relationship between water movement and structure.
Focusing on ripples formed by the flow of a waterfall, Nishi constructed an experimental apparatus in which the structure gently modifies the waves, generating new patterns upon the surface.
The interplay of light and reflection creates subtle distortions, blurring the boundary between the natural and the artificial.Through this dialogue between water and form, the work evokes poetic memories embedded within the ancient landscape.
