Created under the theme New Souvenir, this work explores the relationship between light and memory.
Nishi focused on the afterimage effect—the lingering trace left in one’s vision after seeing intense light—and discovered within it a tangible form of memory. By transforming this visual phenomenon into an apparatus, he reimagines how personal travel experiences can be shared with others.
Light functions as both medium and memory, turning the act of seeing into a spatial experience while leaving behind an emotional resonance.
Lens of Memory evokes poetic imagery suspended in time, offering a space where perception and recollection intertwine through the lingering trace of light.
