Created under the theme of “a new souvenir,” this work explores the relationship between light and memory. What is taken home is not an object, but an image. The work focuses on afterimages that remain in vision after exposure to intense light. A trace briefly imprinted on the retina lingers behind closed eyelids before gradually fading. This perceptual phenomenon is structured as a spatial device, proposing another way to share the experience of travel. What appears is only a fleeting scene; what truly emerges is the image formed within the viewer. The experience is not displayed externally but completed internally. The afterimage does not remain, yet it undeniably exists for a time. The disappearing image itself becomes the souvenir.
