Water / Resonance / Reflection
In the underground tunnels of an abandoned mine, water continuously drips from the rock walls. Läsnäolo responds to this quiet rhythm of falling droplets. Aluminum elements are suspended throughout the space. When a droplet strikes their surfaces, vibrations travel through the structures and generate resonant sounds. Each impact produces a small event, yet together they form a shifting acoustic landscape.
Humidity, reflection, and sound overlap within the subterranean environment, creating an atmosphere that seems to breathe with time. The installation reveals two different temporalities: the industrial time embedded in the mine’s history and the cyclical rhythm of underground water. Rather than representing the environment, Läsnäolo constructs the conditions that allow natural forces to activate the space itself.

Läsnäolo responds to the rhythm of water dripping within an underground mine. Aluminum elements are suspended throughout the space, transmitting vibrations when struck by droplets. Each impact generates a subtle resonance that spreads through the structure. Sound, humidity, and reflections overlap, creating a space that seems to breathe with time. The work reveals the meeting point between industrial history and the cyclical rhythm of subterranean water.
