moor the sky is a large scale installation created on the coast of Naoetsu, Niigata, focusing on the shifting sunset and the tidal rhythm.  At high tide, the vessels fill with seawater; at low tide, they remain as shallow pools. The water surface reflects sky and light in geometric patterns, trembling with wind and cloud movement. Tide level and sunlight determine the form, making the site not a fixed structure but a vessel for phenomena that change with time. Local residents participated in cleaning and installation, allowing the work to emerge as an extension of the land’s daily activity.  Using natural motion as its mediator, the work reweaves the relationship between people and landscape.
