A stage installation created for the Christmas event at Midland Square in Nagoya.
Conceived from the image of small trees gathering to form a luminous forest, the work features delicately crafted tree units made from the special material Picasus, gently swaying in digitally controlled wind. The gold and black color palette creates a dreamlike atmosphere, while the interplay of light and air generates a poetic sense of festivity within the space.
Developed in collaboration with artist Kosei Komatsu, the project realized a fusion of material innovation and spatial composition. It stands as a prime example of how Nishi’s phenomenological approach to light can be applied to urban festive environments—transforming a stage of celebration into a poetic forest of perception.
