In his work, Takatoku Nishi focuses on space and light around or within the space provided. Sometimes people don’t notice the light that surrounds them. We are used to being in bright or dark/dim spaces and we sometimes take illumination for granted. By creating this installation, Takatoku wants to bring attention to the two different types of light present in this room – blue, the natural light and yellow, artificial. The materials used in this project are aluminum mesh and transparent nylon. By using the characteristics of these materials, Taka could intensify the number of reflections of the two types of lights. This work makes the light present in this room more visible. It makes the audience appreciate the light colliding and floating in silence.
