JOHMON ART was presented as part of the Onahama International Environmental Art Festival 2022 at the Aquamarine Fukushima Environmental Aquarium in Iwaki. Inspired by the natural environment of Jomon no Sato, which recreates the landscape from the Jomon period, Takatoku conceived a work that interacts with the water's surface through the use of a waterfall. By placing a structure on the water’s surface, disturbed by the waterfall’s ripples, the movement of the water is gently subdued, creating a visual contrast. The aim was to produce a "pattern" on the water’s surface. This experimental piece evolves as the water's movement changes, offering an ever-shifting interaction between natural forces and man-made intervention.
